Try turning on the ignition, twist throttle fully open two or three times then start. This may reset the throttle idling position.

I use a U-Tag Digital Dogtag. Has all your I.C.E info plus whatever else is important.  Comes with a sticker to put on your bike fairing/dashboard/helmet. Hang it around your neck – no need to remove the helmet. Only issue could be do the paramedics/police have a device to plug in a USB.http://www.utagice.com/acatalog/index.html

I have heard that BMW did not put in a tender for the supply of bikes to NZ Police.

A couple of years ago my wife (as pillion) tripped and fell getting off the bike at a petrol station. Broke her pelvis (ouch) :(. Carted off to Blenheim hospital by ambo. ACC forms completed by the hospital put it down as an 'other accident' and not motorcycle related. ACC even transported her back to Palmie by air ambulance and the after care by ACC was excellent 🙂 :).Moral of the story is I guess it really depends on who is filling out the form!

Good news Darryl. All remits passed. Just need a new Treasurer. 🙂

Many thanks. Mine is a 2004 model also so I'll try drying out the depression and see what happens. I guess what you are calling the controller is the gizzmo that sits on the top of the fuel tank under a plastic cover behind the left hand side fairing.

I prefer Taupo myself. Palmerston North has marginally more going for it than Palmerston.

Now there's a great idea. Why not alternate years - Palmerston North/Palmerston (Otago). Currently living in the Manawatu and originally from Otago I would be more than happy to have an excuse to take the bike across the ditch.

Taupo may be the centre of the NI but Palmerston North is closer to the centre of NZ!! But then that is easy for me to say coming from PN.
