in reply to: getting back into it… #6922
I suspect it's a diesel. I don't think so about running it in. I followed the manual and then wrung its neck. It goes alright, keeps wanting to wheelie when fuel is low.
in reply to: Haynes manual ??? #7013I've got a pdf manual I can mail you.
in reply to: getting back into it… #6919Enjoy your trip. We're looking forward to meeting you. You'll love the bike. From memory it used about half a litre of oil for every 10000km. My 1150 does that for 1500km. I've forgotten where the engine no. is, but that won't hold you back :-). We'll see you on a ride when you'll get back.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5121I have increased the folder size, let's hope this makes a difference. I will have to consult with the board guru on this :-). Could you guys please see if this has changed anything?Cheers,Alex
Good to see some one is looking at our concerns. 😀
Whoa, this is a stunning building, great find.

in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5115Just use externally hosted photos, that's what I do. To my shame I have to admit that I haven't worked out how to attach images from my own computer 😐
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5113Here is one that Lutz, a German tourist, took.
in reply to: getting back into it… #6915Well Bwucie, its the old story, if I told you I'd have to kill you and nobody wants that, just because of a spare key.
in reply to: getting back into it… #6913Not sure if Henry told you this, or if it is still there. Have a look inside the left rear indicator. Also be careful that you close the top box lid carefully, it's a real pain in the butt. I've lost stuff out of there in the past. Looking forward to meeting you at the next ride, or at Monday's meeting.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: BMW’ GS Range Crowned ‘Sandmasters’ #6969Sand is softer I agree. I didn't like the rocks on the beach in Wellington either.
in reply to: Accessories?????? #6935Hi and welcome to the forum. Have a look at neptune.co.nz for exhausts. They also do a y-pipe. In NZ you will be struggling to find BMW specific aftermarket accessories. Occassionally someone will upgrade their bike and sell stuff separately. Is one of your covers damaged and if so which one?Cheers,Alex
in reply to: BMW’ GS Range Crowned ‘Sandmasters’ #6967I've tried loose sand and didn't like it. I found it near impossible on the 1150 and bloody hard work on the R80. I have no intention of seeking it out in the future. These guys seemed to like it though.
in reply to: Takapari Road – Waitangi Day #6961Yep, that water looks deep enough to make its way into the GS intake. Great pictures and excellent ride, another one I missed.
in reply to: Round trip of the South Island. #6931Thanks for the report Tharon. Were you running out of space? I'll see what I can do. I still haven't got the full understanding of how this new forum works. For photos I use photobucket, it seems to work really well.
