Well, another ride without me. You guys are just lucky I am all the way up here, otherwise you'd have me following you around as well. 🙂 Thanks for the report and the pictures.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Stainless Steel Brake Lines #7266My brakelines are made by Fischer Hydraulic in Germany and are dated. Surely that should be enough for the WOF people. Plus the look stock. My old ones are in the bin, so I guess I am comitted. I've also got the paperwork that makes them acceptable to the German TUEV. We'll see, as the warrant is due soon.
in reply to: Auckland BMWOR Sunday ride 1st April #7332Yeah, rides will start around 11am from now on, and I'll make sure the carrier pigeon is well fed before sending it. 😀
in reply to: Auckland BMWOR Sunday ride 1st April #7330Hi Alex! Thanks for the welcome!I think Dean is deliberatley trying to confuse you, and that as an administrator you are allowed to use his HP2.Cheers,Dave
I am not sure if we've met before, Dave. But I am sure I'll see you on one of the rides. It's a neat club and there is always something happening.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Auckland BMWOR Sunday ride 1st April #7328It just had me confused as he only just signed up for his own account. It's not a problem either way.
in reply to: Auckland BMWOR Sunday ride 1st April #7326Thanks for the report Dave. I am a bit confused as you seem to be using Dean's account. Sometimes the sudden changes in plans can work out quite well. My wife and I were put off by the forecast and tempted to catch up on a bit of sleep. However, later on the weather iimproved quite a bit. The initial plan was to head out to Helensville, but was soon extented to include the ride to Warkworth via Woodcock road. After lunch we returned pretty much the same way. We got drizzled on once or twice, but nothing serious and had dry roads most of the way.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Battlewing 501/502 #7305Yes, these are the replacement for the Trailwing. Rowes was the cheapest by far, the others had them up in the Tourance price range, around $600.
in reply to: Battlewing 501/502 #7302They are supposed to be a 90/10 tyre. Stiff enough for a little bit of gravel. I've got the Basic for the more serious stuff. But considering the amount of gravel riding most people do they will be fine. Loose, deep gravel will be more unpleasant, but then again, that's just how it is.
in reply to: Battlewing 501/502 #7300There was an article in Kiwirider a couple of issues ago. I went for a 200km ride today and they performed well. I had couple of minor slides due to too much power on exiting the corners and possibly because I am now running 42psi in the rear and 36psi up front. If these tyres last a reasonable distance I will buy them again.
in reply to: Ceramic exhaust coatings #7278Some guys on advrider have done it. It certainly looks better than what I've got now and like you've said, the price is reasonable. However, I am not too concerned with cosmetics, I guess I am too lazy for that. I like to look after my stuff, but I am not anal about it. If you do take the plunge, I am cetainly interested on how happy you are with the result.
in reply to: Bike insurance #7280You'll have to ring them up and ask for a quote.
in reply to: Ceramic exhaust coatings #7276http://www.hpcoatings.co.nz These guys do all sort of coatings.
in reply to: Ceramic exhaust coatings #7275I have considered it. There is a company in south Auckland who does it.
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5162Our man in the South coming through :-). Good finds. Leave some for Gerda and I when we got to the Annual Rally next year.
I just saw that they already have a larger tank for the 650 to bring capacity up to 25 litres. Who would want to sit on this seat for so long? I hope the weight for the 450 is around 100kg. I like what they've done with the chain. I agree the 450 would be more useful. I'd say it will probably come in at the same price as the V2 Aprillias.
