in reply to: Taupo Track Day 20th April 2007 #7516
Looks like another good day out for you. I had a look on their website and the 20th was already booked out. These track days must be quite popular. I must keep an eye out for Pukekohe, I am sure they have the occassional track day there as well. Taupo is quite a distance to go for such an event.
in reply to: K1200 Gt after market pipe #7507Would that be the old GT or the new one? A number of people have aftermarket pipes on their new K1200 bikes, I suspect they'll all sound pretty similar with an afermarket pipe.
in reply to: REGALIA PERSON #7506Sounds like a plan to me. There can only be one of two responses at the next meeting. People will agree, or someone will volunteer to on Regaliar. Either way will work for me.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Look what else you can get with a BMW bike #7502I'll take the “real” with a grain of salt, or would that be silicone?
in reply to: New BMW superbike #7473Enjoy your day Dave. Looks like I won't be going anywhere tomorrow. I am stuck in Valve-Adjustment-Hell, Gerda's F650 is in pieces and I can't get to the damn cam chain tensioner. I am going to be in the poop, if I don't have the bike running by Saturday.
in reply to: New BMW superbike #7470Dean, do you have a source for that photo? I am amazed that they've kept the telelever front end. People have always commented on how it is not the ultimate for racing. Good on them.
in reply to: New BMW superbike #7469Are just going for the day?
in reply to: New BMW superbike #7466Me too. It looks like a great toy. The light weight of the bike should kill the k1200 on the track.
I wouldn't know, I have never been on a track. It will be interesting to see how well it will do at Le Mans. That will depend a lot on reliability and on who will ride it. I enjoy watching the racing, but in the real world I prefer more comfortable bikes. It would make a great toy though.
in reply to: New BMW superbike #7464Cool looking bike. I hope my back will feel a lot better by 2008, so I can take it for a spin 🙂
in reply to: Lottin Point – the long way round #7454Thanks for the report Gary, you keep raising the bar and I haven't even managed the first hurdle yet. I haven't been around the East Cape in a few years now, it has just moved up the list of desirable rides in the near future. I like how you've given us some background and historical information. So it's interesting and educational. It certainly looks like you guys have had a great time and the weather wasn't too bad. I hope you have also submitted this to the editor, so that the ludd.. ahem, non-internet users don't miss out.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Tapora Gravel ride #7446nice pics Alex - thanks for posting - the 'Basic' looks good - I'm quite envious - these machines are becoming quite sought after - there's a person over on ADV looking for one. What's that rear tyre your running - looks to be 'coarser' than a TCK. Cheers S
The tyres are Michelin T63. They won't last as long as the TKC, but I don't ride the bike as much or as hard as the 1150, so it should work out ok. They are a bit noisy on the road, and with lower tyre pressure they really sing. They are pretty good on gravel, dry or wet.
in reply to: Tapora Gravel ride #7445I like Toitoi 🙂
I do too, but it's very hard to get rid off. Years ago I had panted some in the garden, took a lot of hard work to remove again.
in reply to: Raglan Ride 150407 #7441Thanks for the report Dave, it was a good ride on Sunday and good company. Next time we'll have to ride down to the beaches.
in reply to: 2007 BMW Safari in NZ #6121I would be more than happy to help out with some one and two day rides and I may even be able to pass on some of my knowledge of riding big bikes. Henry has said if we could come up with some riding ideas there may be some help coming from BMW 😮
I'd like to learn this
in reply to: 2007 BMW Safari in NZ #6120Yes please, thank you.
