in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5190
It's part of the life-cycle I guess. Jim took one of a chimney, the only remaining part of the building.
in reply to: Auckland ride to Mangawai #7602Sorry I didn't see you turn off Neko, I thought you might take a later exit. Thanks for writing this up and taking the time to photographer as well. Thanks for your time as Area Rep. The destination was excellent, something to keep in mind for future rides. This ride showed once again that you shouldn't be put off by a few drops of rain, or you'll miss out. All up we had less rain on this ride than we did on the one to Raglan. Thanks to a guy on a sports bike I got my tyres scrubbed in properly towards the end of the ride :-).
in reply to: Poly V Belt / Alternator Belt Tip #7599Good tip, but two weeks too late for me :-). The BMW one is about $30, that extra mm is expensive.
in reply to: Rain-X or similiar, does it work? #5643I think we bought it at Motomail
in reply to: Rain-X or similiar, does it work? #5641I have started using NIKWAX on the System 4 and it works as advertised.
in reply to: Gun Trophy – widen the scope? #7576I don't know if the Editor ever reads the site, but if he is short of material eh could find a lot here. A short email to the writer is all it takes. The forum is still slowly growing and I think word will get around and more people will take advantge of it. I am sure a lot of members read it, but do not bother to register. People respond quite quickly know to requests for advice etc. I have found it to helpful many times. This is where the newsletter can't compete.
in reply to: Gidday to you all… #7589Your bike will know the way :-D. Enjoy your trip this weekend and make sure you take plenty of pictures.
in reply to: Gun Trophy – widen the scope? #7571I'll second that :-). Suggest it at the next meeting Malcolm. On the otherhand it wouldn't be much trouble if some of the writers just emailed a copy to the editor, should they wish to have their article taken into consideration.

Don't worry about it, extra bonus for the interior shots.
Did you check the ballance , while riding as well ?
No, I think that's getting carried away:-). It was fine up to 4000 rpm. The bike feels really good right now. I may have to tweak the Poly V-belt a bit more, it slips just a little bit on start up. But I figure better slightly loose than too tight. I still get a bit of pinging under hard acceleration, but no surging. I may also look into updating my left cam chain tensioner, there is an upgrade available.
in reply to: R1100 RT mirrors removal #7560The mirrors have to be tapped (short sharp tap with the palm of your hand into the correct direction. I suspect upwards,, but I don't know. There are a couple of RT riders on the board who would know. I you get know reply from them, give Experience a quick ring.
I've used the twin max on the 1150 a couple of days ago. It wasn't hard to do, but I still had to do it twice, as the first time I forgot to set the idle speed and just condentrated on the balance setting. Now it's running really well. Unfortunately the hoses onthe twin max are a tad too large, I had to compensate by wrapping a bit of tape around the vacuum fitting on the throttle body.
in reply to: Any goss on weaknesses of the F800? #7546I think the F800 will be a good bike, but only time will tell. The only thing to consider are the service costs. It would be worth asking how much they are.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Taupo Track Day 20th April 2007 #7518I can see your point. Taupo does sound like it is lot more organized. Like you mentioned, riding there and back is not the issue, but after having completed all the riding on the track, finding the condentration to ride home again would be a chore. Still, there is no rush, I am sure I'll get to do one eventually. If I have time I might come and watch the next one.
