in reply to: Rocker Bolt Welding #7721Good point, I am sorry but I don't know the answer to that. A good welder should know, perhaps even Experience BMW.
in reply to: Letterboxes, post them here #6801Excellent, l thought there might be some weird ones out there, but I am still surprised :-).
in reply to: Abandoned weatherboard buildings -Post them here- #5195That's a good one. I also like Phil's one little red one at the top of the page. Yesterday I spotted one along the coast of Thames, no camera of course. Next time 🙂
in reply to: Club ride to Pauanui #7732Hi Des,like Dick said, your pillion is relaxed and that is a good sign. I am glad you guys managed to get through the Gorge without an incident. I bet the people were sight seeing, instead of paying attention to the road. Most people must have done the breakfast in bed thing and have stayed off the road. The traffic wasn't bad considering the good weather.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Hi from Zukin #7727Welcome to the forum and congratulations to the new bike. 2005 is as good as new, you'll love it. These things hardly use any fuel, absolutely amazing.Cheers,Alex
It's an exciting read for sure. I did a bit of this and a bit of that, but never got enough effort together to ride out to Pukekohe. My bike can't do anywhere near 250km/h, so I have to scare myself at speed a lot slower than that. Tomorrow looks like it's going to be a fine day and I am looking forward to the ride. I've never been to Pauanui before, let's hope we won't miss to many turns. As lead rider I am supposed to be sensible, so we may have to leave the excitement for the return trip :-). I know what you mean about the little Elephants, it always took a long time to get rid of them on the Tourance tyres, but that's where all the fun is.See you tomorrow.Alex
in reply to: Greenish/Grey Gearbox Oil #7664Ouch. So are you thinking of repairing it and then selling it, or did you want to sell it in as is condition? If you still like the bike, keep it. If it was my 1150 I would repair and keep. It's the only bike I've ever bought new, so I am more attached to it then usual.
in reply to: Rocker Bolt Welding #7719Hi,try these guys http://www.ubd-online.co.nz/taylorautomotive/ depending on access, the head may be able to stay on the bike. This company may also be able to help http://www.brugar.co.nz/index.htm Give them a call. If they can't help, they should be able to recommend someone else.Cheers,Alex
in reply to: Auckland area ride 13 May 07 #7712Mangawhai was the last ride. I take it you'll be on the Paunaui ride then? The editor must have had a copy and paste malfunction.
in reply to: I’m sorry, you can’t ride your bike #7675Hi Ingel, good to hear from you. How can they legally ban staff from using bikes? The trouble is too many people over here get their inspiration from there. That's one idea they can keep.Apart from that, are you and Leslie having a good time?Alex
in reply to: Broken Rocker Cover Bolt #7671You should be able to have it welded and re-tapped. They are little more than hand tight. I use the torque wrench or stop when the rubber seal shows signs of compression. Of course, the crack could have been the delayed result of a tip-over. Check out the ads in the back of Kiwi Rider magazine for place to go for welding.
in reply to: Taupo Track Day 20th April 2007 #7529I might come and watch for a while. I have spent too much money lately 🙁
