Johnny  Johnny  Johnny next time u wont to no an answer like this go straight to the “Organ Grinder” and leave the “monkeys” out of it. The answer is “YES” and there is a model that u can get from a local bike shop that has about 4 screens and backlight  and very easy to read. Only goes up to 199kmh but the only time u will ever do that is if ya bike gets thrown out of a plane.  they sell this model on US sites and say pushbike one not suitable for motorcycles that that is bullshit as I had one. u will need to make sensor lead longer. only two wires in it so no problem. do not buy a wireless one.topeak panoram  http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Computer/product_87497.shtml  or google it.  boogie on down to ya local cycle shop and ask to get u one' mine cost about $80 NZ but appears to be lost in space at moment. gave it to someone to try and they returned it but i misplaced in my gargaeSigma models goes to 299kmh but small screenover and out. monkeys to feed

Maybe going on an advance rider course can also be the difference on braking techniques.

I suppose all those hours i spent training in the MOT riding bikes does not count, and the refresher courses the Police made me do were also a waste of time. Riding a bike for 6 years working in Orkland traffic and never having an incident must be testament to this. 😀I actually don't use the brakes much unless having a yahoo, and to prove this have had the brake pads in the for 7 years on this brake mod.  👿and I totally agree with you re rider training. All time spent upskilling is a positive and people that think going out for a ride ad not crashing is a good ride. To me this does not come into the equation.

the great thing about the upgrade is now when i am out, i no longer have to do a u turn when i have driven past a road i wanted to turn down as the brakes do't stop ya. This is a low cost brake mod which is works better than the other better alternate or early gs brakes (holding both arms out horizonal, facing your palms forward and cupping your hands) and heres a piccie for ya Koko. (where am i)and two reasons why i hate going thru Orkland, 1. the 5km traffic jam nth from Drury. Thank christ for the grass verge by the medium barrier and owning a GS. 2. The traffic doing 20kmh from Western springs to Lincoln Road, why oh why would someone inflict this on themselves.

Motorworks in the UK used to sell a kit of secondhand parts to do this conversion. Might be worth talking to them as a last resort!. They’ve got a website, google motorworks should find it ok

yeah as a last resort and taking a second mortgage out for the exchange rate

Very helpful and encouraging. Where should I go to get the parts? Nothing available in Invercargill, too small. I don’t mind having a bike shop do the work but I don’t want to get stung for original parts from Germany.

Also would it be wise to put larger carburettors on too or is it just bigger jets that are needed?

email me and i will tell u where u may get some

u may want to consider the Holden alternator upgrade 2. only joking

most of the guys on hair have oil heads and don’t know what a real bike is. 😳

I posted ya question to the BrooC the man from Ozfailure who forgot to go home from Noo Plymooouuuuth and this was his answer.

""""""Speaking as one who has owned 3 R100GS, an R80RT,an R100RT, & now an R80G/S (the last of the great 'slash' beemers!) I would say go find some R100 lungs & bung em on as soon as ya can, they have to be about the MOST cost-effective performance mod I've ever thrown money at!

"My G/S now has a set & they did it a world of good, more grunt thruout the range & NO downsides I can identify except the not unreasonable costs . .. with careful shopping you should find a pair for around $500, toss in some fresh rings if they need it & a light hard-hone to help em settle in (ignore those who tell you that Nikosil cant have or doesnt need honing ~ BMW themselves issued a special hone for the job, so they orter know!) .. . & mebbe have a go at doing it yourself unless you are a total hamfist, just ask lots of silly questions ~ & try to sort the silly answers!

As to vibration, every bike seems different, & mine has no more vibration than previously, & is smoother than some of my stock R100's have been . . ..oh, & as far as I know the bottom ends are all the same so you wont be over-stressing anything . ... I didnt even need to rejet!

Go fer it, I say . .. . . getting rid of the turbulence-vibration over the top of the fairing will be a bigger challenge (unless yer a dwarf!)
    BrooC in NP ;-)) """""

I can supply u Brooc E ing mail should you want it

I got a quote for a genuine topbox ($1300),decided this was madness, and foung a cheap ($78) Givi clone at the Yamaha agents in Blenheim – well made, easy to install, quick detach with a secure mounting, why would I consider the genuine? The one I have is just as good and wont fall off.,for 5% of the originals cost.

is the Yamahahahaha agent in Bleniemheimer a register member.
