Howdo,The latest updates to the MAIDS (Motorcycle Accidents In-Depth Study) have been released, and are available for downloading. You will need to register with the site to download the reports if you are interested. They are European stats, but still make chilling reading. Back in the day when I had access to LTSA's stats they had some scary figures as well: I have a suspicion that if you could compare like with like between MAIDS and LTSA the discrepancies wouldn't be all that great. It seems to me that motorcyclists are similarly anarchistic world wide, no matter which jurisdiction they ride in. All of us tend towards being rebels without a pause.

    MAIDS 2.0

Version 2.0 of the Motorcycle Accident In-Depth Study has been published What's new?A camparison between mopeds and motorcycles       * A multivariate analysis of fatal accidents in the MAIDS database      * Version 2.0 of the MAIDS Study is now available on http://www.maids-study.eu. It includes a new presentation of the data with a split between mopeds (L1 vehicles) and motorcycle (L3) in both chapters, chapter 3.0 General Accident Characteristics and Chapter 10.0 Rationale for Action. Furthermore ACEM published the Multivariate Analysis of Fatal Accident in MAIDS. This report describes the results of a multivariate analysis of the in-depth motorcycle accident data collected during the MAIDS project. Data have been presented according to all powered two-wheelers (PTW), as well as L1 and L3 vehicle categories where appropriate. To download the updated report and the multivariate analysis, go to the MAIDS website: http://www.maids-study.eu
