I can not understand why BMW have used the same gear box as the 1200gs.

I asked John G why the 1200hp had the 1200gs gear box and he thought with the low weight of the hp this would mean you would not need the lower gears.

Well with the new pig on the block and the same 1200gs gear box with its high first gear how is BMW going to explain this away.

If they say use the clutch then they will be replacing alot of clutch plates as this is the one weak point of the boxer engines.

I know with the 1150adv I had it was the lower gear box which made it fun on the trails.

It also looks like you want be able to use the 1200gs side bags or top box.
