Mildly entertaining read but half baked.  Why would you NOT take the panniers off  the BMW for a bike on bike comparison on some sections, particularly the dirt  / fire break sections ? Or perhaps he should have tested 690 with a pillion, but they did not do that - 690 two up would bark like a 3 legged dog??
